Optimal Nutrient Management Boosts Rice Yields and Soil Health
The study looked at how different nutrient management practices affect rice productivity in West Bengal, India. By testing various fertilizer doses on two rice varieties during the Kharif and Boro seasons, researchers found that applying the recommended amount of nutrients led to the highest grain yields. The best results were seen when the ample dose of nutrients was used, resulting in maximum yields for both seasons. Not giving enough of certain nutrients had a negative impact on rice growth and nutrient balance in the soil. This shows that proper nutrient management is crucial for maintaining sustainable rice yields in intensive rice cropping systems.
