The researchers conducted a study to find the best time to plant rice for a second harvest in Mazandaran. They tested 24 different planting dates and found that planting in early July resulted in the highest rice yield. Planting later led to fewer filled grains and lower yields. Early planting also sped up the growth stages of the rice plants. Overall, planting between late June and early July is the best time for double cropping of rice in Mazandaran.
