Heavy metals in South China vegetables pose high health risks for children.
The study looked at heavy metal pollution in leafy vegetables in a Tungsten Pollution Area in South China. They collected 93 vegetable samples from rural households and analyzed the levels of Cd, Pb, As, and Zn. The results showed that these metals were present in the vegetables, with Cd being the most concerning. Redskin vegetables had medium pollution levels, while cabbage and spinach were cleaner. The health risk from consuming these vegetables was higher for children than for adults.
