Drip irrigation boosts potato yield while saving water and fertilizer
The study looked at different ways to water and fertilize potato plants to increase their yield and save resources. They tested drip irrigation, micro-irrigation, and traditional irrigation, along with different amounts of fertilizer. Drip irrigation was found to be the best method, increasing the number of potato plants that grew from 85% to 95% compared to traditional irrigation. It also led to higher potato yields and saved 37% water and 55% fertilizer while still producing the same amount of potatoes. In conclusion, using drip irrigation can help increase potato yield and make better use of water.
