Soybean farmers can boost yields and save water with partial root zone irrigation
The study aimed to see if changing how water is applied to soybean plants can improve irrigation efficiency and crop yield. Two different methods of alternating furrow irrigation were tested against traditional furrow irrigation. Results showed that the alternative methods used less water and reduced surface runoff compared to the traditional method. The highest crop yield was achieved with one of the alternative methods and a specific irrigation level, showing that this approach can be more efficient for soybean production.
