Optimizing irrigation and nitrogen levels boosts wheat yield in Punjab.
The study looked at how different irrigation schedules and nitrogen levels affect the growth and yield of wheat in Punjab. They tested 12 combinations and found that the best results were seen with irrigation at CRI, Late jointing, and Milking stages, along with 125 kg/ha of nitrogen. This combination led to the highest plant height, tillers per square meter, and yield attributes like spike length and grain per spike. Overall, this approach resulted in significantly higher grain, straw, and biological yield compared to other combinations tested.
