The Gender Pay Gap in India was studied using data from 2011-12. Results show that the pay gap is higher in rural areas than in cities. Agriculture and private households have the biggest pay gaps. Illiterate and less educated workers also face higher pay gaps. Wealthier states have lower pay gaps, while poorer states have higher ones.
