The article presents a new model called Circular Economy Life Cycle Assessment (CE-LCA) for analyzing the environmental impact of building components in a circular economy. The researchers developed this model in four steps, adapting existing standards and testing it on a Circular Kitchen component. The CE-LCA model considers building components as a mix of parts and materials with multiple use cycles, expanding the system boundary to include these cycles. The model was found to be effective in assessing the environmental impact of circular building components, supporting the shift towards a more sustainable built environment.
