Wheat farmers in Rajasthan can boost yields and income with 33% less seed.
A study in Jaipur, Rajasthan looked at different amounts of wheat seeds to see which gave higher yields. They tested 100kg of seeds per hectare against the usual 150kg. The soil was sandy with low organic matter and nutrients. The results showed that using 100kg of seeds per hectare led to higher wheat yields compared to using 150kg.
