The researchers studied changes in the types of crops grown in Haryana during the Kharif season. They used a method called cluster analysis to identify these shifts. The study found that the Wards minimum variance method of cluster analysis was the most suitable for this task. The analysis was done using data from 1976–77 to 2010–11, and it showed how different crops were grown in Haryana over time.
