Optimizing Rice Planting Density Boosts Yield and Profitability in West Bengal.
A study in West Bengal looked at how different planting densities affect the growth and yield of a rice cultivar called CR Dhan 307. They found that planting the rice seedlings closer together at 15 cm x 15 cm led to the highest dry matter accumulation, crop growth rate, plant height, number of panicles, and yield attributing characters. This spacing also resulted in the highest grain yield, grain-straw ratio, and harvest index. Overall, planting rice at 15 cm x 15 cm showed the best economic returns compared to other planting densities.
