EU Citizens' Attitudes Shape Future of Clean Energy Transition.
The European Union has set ambitious climate and energy goals, and it's important for citizens to support them. A study looked at what factors influence EU citizens' attitudes towards these energy priorities. They used data from people in 27 EU countries and found that support for specific energy policies varies based on how important people think environment, climate, and energy issues are. Those who support a common energy policy among EU countries are more likely to prioritize green energy. People with right-wing views focus on EU industry competitiveness, while those with left-wing views prioritize environmental protection. Factors like gender, occupation, and where people live also play a role in shaping attitudes towards EU energy priorities.
