Eutrophication threat looms as zooplankton abundance declines in Indian tank.
The researchers studied the zooplankton in a tank in Karnataka, India, to see how the water quality changes throughout the year. They found 52 different types of zooplankton, with the most in the summer and the least after the monsoon. Copepoda was the most common type, especially in the winter. Some species suggest the water is becoming too rich in nutrients. This shows that human activities and farming are causing the water to become unhealthy.
