Climate extremes impact vegetation resistance and resilience, altering ecosystem productivity and stability.
The study looked at how plants respond to extreme weather events by using satellite data to measure their health. They found that in wet conditions, plants grow better, but in dry conditions, they struggle. Different types of ecosystems have different abilities to bounce back after extreme weather, with more productive areas being less resistant but more resilient to dry events, and less productive areas being more resistant to dry events. This research helps us understand how plants cope with climate change and how different ecosystems respond to extreme weather.
