Increased privacy literacy leads to higher privacy concerns among Internet users.
The article investigates how knowledgeable people are about online privacy and how concerned they are about their privacy online. The researchers used a survey with over 26,000 European Internet users to study this. Surprisingly, they found that people who know more about privacy rights and protections actually have more concerns about their privacy online. Knowing more about privacy laws doesn't make people less worried about their privacy either. This suggests that being more informed about privacy doesn't necessarily make people feel more secure online.
