Syrian students in Turkey face challenges learning and communicating in Turkish.
The research aimed to understand how Syrian students learning Turkish feel about the process and speaking the language. They interviewed students who had been in Turkey for at least five years and learned Turkish at a language center. The students mentioned different language features and educational gaps when talking about learning Turkish. When it came to speaking Turkish, they discussed cultural differences and challenging situations. The findings were compared with other studies on teaching Turkish to foreigners, leading to suggestions for improvement.
