Soil Tillage Methods Impact Soil Health and Crop Yields in Nigeria.
The study looked at how different ways of tilling soil and depths in Southeastern Nigeria affect soil properties. They tested soil samples from three tillage methods: conventional, conservative, and no tillage, at different depths. Results showed that soil electrical conductivity and nitrogen levels were significantly different between the tillage methods. For example, conservative tillage had higher soil nitrogen levels compared to conventional tillage. Overall, the way soil is tilled can impact soil properties like pH, potassium, phosphorous, organic carbon, and nitrogen levels.
