Public hospitals in Panama under new management scheme show 4% productivity growth.
Public hospitals in Panama were studied to see if their management schemes affect efficiency. The study looked at 22 hospitals from 2005 to 2015, comparing those managed by the Social Security Fund (SSF) and the Ministry of Health (MoH). Results showed that SSF hospitals had higher productivity growth (almost 4% compared to 1.5% for MoH hospitals) due to better technological advancements, especially in recent years.
