Land registration project in Indonesia faces insecurity due to incomplete validation.
Land registration in Indonesia faces challenges due to incomplete digitalization and poor quality of land titles. A new policy has increased the number of land titles produced, but quality remains a concern. Collaborative mapping was used to validate land titles in a study, showing that accuracy and completeness can be improved. However, legal security of land titles requires further incremental improvements by local land offices. Without reforms using collaborative mapping, achieving complete land registration by 2025 is unlikely.
