Spatial analysis revolutionizes weather predictions in Nigeria, improving accuracy and impact.
The researchers found that using a traditional linear regression model wasn't the best way to analyze precipitation data in Nigeria. They came up with new models that consider the spatial aspects of the data, and found that these new models performed better. The best model identified was the Spatial Autoregressive with additional autoregressive error structure (SARAR) model. They also pinpointed areas in Nigeria that have high and low precipitation levels and studied how these areas are distributed across the region.
