Air pollution in Central Europe decreasing, but winter emissions remain high
The study looked at air pollution from PM10 particles in Olomouc, Czech Republic, from 2001 to 2018. They filled in missing data by using measurements from nearby cities. The daily PM10 limit was exceeded in the area. Pollution levels decreased in spring, autumn, and summer, but not in winter due to local heating emissions. This information helps organizations tackle air pollution issues effectively. Domestic heating is a major source of PM10 pollution in the Czech Republic. The method used in this study can be applied to other areas with similar pollution sources and conditions.
