Cryopreserved rabbit sperm quality boosted by zeolite-charged extender
In this study, researchers wanted to see how adding zeolite with different charges to rabbit semen before freezing impacts sperm quality. They mixed zeolite with positive and negative charges into the sperm solution and froze it for a month. After thawing, they found that the zeolite mix improved sperm motility, vitality, and membrane health compared to the control samples. The zeolite also reduced apoptotic (cell death) sperm cells and reduced damage during freezing. The zeolite didn't seem to affect oxidative markers in the sperm solution. The results suggest that using zeolite with charges can help protect rabbit sperm during freezing and improve their quality when thawed.
