Low Women's Political Participation Hinders Democratic Representation in Assam
The article examines the participation of women in politics in Rangia, Assam, India, compared to men from 1951 to 2016. It shows that women's involvement in politics is lower than men's. The study focuses on the voting patterns, candidacy, and representation of women in the Legislative Assembly. The findings suggest the need for increased political awareness and education to ensure equal participation of women in politics, allowing for better representation of all segments of society.
