Traditional forest use leads to lower diversity, threatening ecosystem health.
The researchers studied how traditional use affects the diversity of trees in the Sardasht Forests. They compared two areas with similar conditions and found that the disturbed area had lower tree diversity. Factors like cutting and grazing played a big role in this difference. The study used plots to record tree types and calculated different diversity indices to compare the two areas. The results showed that the less disturbed area had higher tree diversity compared to the disturbed area.
