New weed management method boosts rice-toria system productivity and profits!
A study was conducted in India to improve rice-toria cropping systems in fallow fields. Different methods were tested for growing rice in the rainy season and toria in the winter. The best results were seen with transplanting rice, using herbicides and mechanical weeding, and applying glyphosate and quizalofop ethyl in toria. This approach led to the highest rice-equivalent yield and system net return, maximizing productivity and profitability in the system.
