The article discusses a new type of bridge design called the steel-concrete double composite girder bridge, which aims to reduce construction costs and improve structural efficiency. By using two concrete slabs on the upper and lower surfaces of the girder, the bridge can handle bending moments more effectively. This design allows for a reduction in the girder height at intermediate supports, making it suitable for medium span bridges. The study shows that this innovative design can lead to cost savings and improved structural performance compared to traditional bridge designs.
