Soil erosion threatens Longdun Reservoir watershed, urgent action needed.
The study used a model and mapping technology to assess soil erosion in a reservoir area. Results showed that most of the area had low erosion levels, but a small portion had severe erosion contributing to most of the soil loss. Different types of land use affected erosion differently, with fields being more prone to erosion than forests. Certain sub-areas had higher erosion rates and need more attention for erosion control. Overall, areas with high erosion potential should be targeted for future erosion prevention efforts.
