Land use changes in China lead to alarming increase in soil erosion.
Land use changes in Changwu County on the Loess Plateau in China have led to increased soil erosion over the past 30 years. Cropland expansion and changes in orchard and forest areas have contributed to this erosion. The most accurate models for predicting these changes were the Spatial lag and Spatial error models. Soil erosion has shifted from slight to light, moderate, and severe erosion, with an overall increase in erosion rates over time.
