Climate change increases air-conditioning design load, impacting energy efficiency and comfort.
The study looked at how changes in temperature and humidity due to climate change affect the design of air-conditioning systems in different cities in China. They found that as temperatures rose and humidity decreased, the cooling needs of air-conditioning systems increased, while the dehumidification needs decreased. This means that when designing air-conditioning systems, both temperature and humidity changes should be considered to save energy and improve indoor comfort.
