Sudan's Incomplete Exchange Rate Pass-through Leads to Foreign Price Dominance.
The study looked at how changes in foreign prices and exchange rates affect prices in Sudan from 1978 to 2017. They found that the exchange rate doesn't fully impact domestic prices, and foreign prices have a bigger influence. When the exchange rate goes up, domestic prices go down. Import prices have the most impact on domestic prices, while changes in the exchange rate are mostly influenced by the exchange rate itself.
