New irrigation techniques boost short cucumber yields, transforming farming practices.
Short-fruited cucumbers grown in open areas under drip irrigation need 15 waterings with an average of 18.3 mm of water each time. The irrigation schedule depends on plant growth and weather conditions. The study tested different irrigation levels and found that yields varied from 2368 to 5404 kg / dka over three years. The highest yields were in the first and second years, while the third year had lower yields due to bad weather shortening the growing season.
