Contract farming in Zimbabwe's tobacco industry has been studied to see how it affects supplier performance. A survey of 20 tobacco firms showed that contract farming improves cost and quality performance for farmers. However, it did not have a significant impact on delivery performance. Strengthening contract farming structures could help farmers benefit more from improved cost and quality performance.
