New herbicide combo boosts wheat yield by 20% while killing resistant weeds.
A study was done to find ways to control a weed called Phalaris minor in wheat fields. Different herbicides were tested to see which ones worked best. The combination of pendimethalin and pyroxasulfone, followed by mesosulfuron and iodosulfuron, was the most effective in reducing the weed population and increasing wheat yield. Some herbicides caused slight damage to the wheat initially, but the plants recovered without affecting the harvest. A new herbicide called pyroxasulfone showed promising results in controlling the resistant weed. By combining it with other herbicides, the control of Phalaris minor improved significantly.
