By comparing data on outward foreign investment from national banks with data on inward foreign investment in partner countries, the researchers found that Czech firms may have more foreign investment than reported. Some countries like Estonia and Hungary mainly host foreign companies' investments, while others like Czech Republic and Slovakia invest more from their own headquarters. Overall, foreign investment from indigenous companies in these countries is smaller compared to total foreign investment.
