IT outsourcing can help companies improve productivity, but there is limited research on its strategic importance. By studying 200 organizations, researchers found that factors like IT outsourcing process management, core competencies, and relationship-specific investments impact the client-vendor relationship, which in turn affects IT outsourcing performance. This study offers new insights on how strategic decision-making influences outsourcing success.
