Border cities hold the key to boosting development in EU's lagging regions
Around 30% of people in the EU live in border regions, which are often less developed than non-border areas. Border cities play a crucial role in boosting development in these regions. A study looked at 65 EU border twin cities and found that they are mostly small to medium-sized cities in struggling areas. Despite this, these cities have the potential to improve the overall development of border regions by concentrating human and economic resources.
