Boost greengram yield and save costs with biofertilizers and inorganic nutrients
Researchers conducted a field experiment to improve the growth and yield of greengram by using biofertilizers and a reduced amount of chemical fertilizers. They found that combining 75% of the recommended NPK fertilizers with Rhizobium seed treatment, along with soil application of PSB and KSB, resulted in similar growth and yield compared to using the full recommended dose of NPK with Rhizobium and PSB separately. This approach was also more effective than other treatments in terms of productivity, cost savings on inorganic fertilizers, and nutrient use efficiency. Overall, using biofertilizers can enhance greengram productivity while reducing production costs and increasing net returns.
