The study looked at how mergers and acquisitions affect stock returns in Sri Lanka. They used data from 10 companies over 2010-2019 and found that when mergers and acquisitions were announced, stock returns went up. However, after the announcement, the returns gradually decreased. This suggests that investors reacted positively to the news initially, but the effect faded over time.
