New brinjal hybrids promise higher yields and better fruit quality.
The study aimed to identify the best parent plants and hybrid combinations for improving fruit yield in brinjal. By analyzing the combining ability of different plants, researchers found that certain parent plants and hybrid combinations were more effective in producing higher fruit yields and other important traits like fruit length and number of fruits per plant. The study also showed that both additive and nonadditive gene actions play a role in determining fruit yield and its contributing factors in brinjal plants.
