Organic Farming Boosts Biodiversity, Offering Hope for Endangered Species
In this study, researchers looked at how organic farming affects plants and animals compared to intensive farming. They read 75 past studies from 1990 to 2017 and found that organic farming is good for helping different plants and animals thrive. The research shows that organic farming helps keep more species and more of them around. But, organic farming still needs improvements to support some species even better. A survey with organic farmers in north-eastern Germany said that costs and dealing with rules are important for farmers when deciding to use conservation methods. Overall, the study suggests that organic farming can be a great way to support biodiversity, but there is room to make it even better for some species.
