New study reveals 78% of Sarawak suitable for oil palm plantations.
The goal of the research was to assess if the Northern Region of Sarawak is suitable for growing oil palm plantations. The researchers used Geographic Information System and Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process to evaluate the area. They found that 78% of the study area is suitable for oil palm cultivation, which could help in planning for future expansion of oil palm plantations in the region.
