The article explores how the relationship between buyers and suppliers affects the sustainability efforts of suppliers. By studying five large companies in Turkey and their suppliers, the researchers found that the level of dependence and relational capital between buyers and suppliers can either help or hinder supplier sustainability performance. The findings show that the dynamics between dependence and relational capital can have both positive and negative impacts on how well suppliers perform in terms of environmental and social sustainability.
