They treated the corn stover with ammonia and enzymes, then tested how well it could be turned into ethanol. They found that under the best conditions, they could convert 81.2% of the corn stover into sugar and 85.4% of that sugar into ethanol. This method could help make ethanol production more efficient and sustainable.
