Revolutionizing Fenugreek Farming: High Genetic Variability Boosts Crop Yield
A study on fenugreek plants was conducted to assess their genetic variability and heritability. Different genotypes were grown in a farm in Rajasthan, India, and analyzed for various characteristics. The results showed significant differences among the genotypes, indicating a good amount of variability. The number of pods per plant, number of branches per plant, seed yield per plant, biological yield per plant, and harvest index were found to have the highest variability. Traits like number of branches per plant, protein percentage, and seed weight showed high heritability and genetic gain.
