Random numbers are important in technology. There are two ways to make them: analog and digital. Digital methods are popular because they are easy to use. The main way to make random numbers digitally is with M-sequence, but it has some problems. This article suggests a new way to make random numbers using FPGA hardware. By adding a multi-tap structure to M-sequence, they made a new random number generator that can make numbers of any size and with a very long period. They tested this method on a specific FPGA chip and found that it works well.
