Saw dust mulch boosts soil health, plastic mulch maximizes okra yield.
The study looked at how using different types of mulch affects the soil and growth of okra plants. They tested sawdust and plastic mulch in a field experiment over two years. The results showed that using mulch reduced soil density, increased moisture content, and improved plant growth and yield compared to no mulch. In particular, sawdust mulch at 10 tons per hectare improved soil quality, while black plastic mulch led to taller plants and higher okra yields. Overall, using mulch can benefit both the soil and the crop, with different types of mulch having varying effects on plant growth and yield.
