Lithuania has been working on improving its urban and regional planning to boost its economy and reclaim its pre-war status. After a long transitional period, laws were passed to regulate planning, and new documents were created to reflect development conditions. However, there is still a need for clearer state regional policies, faster changes in planning laws, and better regulation of urban development. Despite challenges, progress has been made in sustainable urban development in Lithuania.
