The study compared two methods for creating surface maps of ore deposits: improved Kriging and inverse distance square interpolation. The researchers used a genetic algorithm to fit the semi variogram model in Kriging, finding that while inverse distance square interpolation is faster, the improved Kriging method is more accurate for fitting scattered data. The results suggest that improved Kriging is better suited for practical engineering applications.
