The researchers studied different okra plants to find the best combinations for higher fruit yield. They crossed 10 elite okra lines to create 45 new hybrids and compared them with the original plants. They found that some hybrids produced more fruits per plant than the parents or standard check variety. The best crosses for higher fruit yield were GAO 5 × Kashi Kranti, Phule Prajatika × Red One Long, and Phule Prajatika × JF 5. These hybrids showed better performance and increased fruit yield compared to the original plants.
