Border cities play a crucial role in the development of border regions in the European Union. While most border areas have lower development levels, border cities act as hubs of growth. By studying these cities, we can better understand the challenges and potential of border regions. The research looked at 65 twin border cities, mostly small to medium-sized, and found that they hold the key to boosting the development of EU border regions by concentrating human and economic resources.
